"How to
Care For Your New Laminate Floor"
Protect the Floor
- Place a door mat at
outside entrances to collect tracked-in dirt and absorb excess
moisture.
- Place felt door
protectors under furniture legs to prevent scratches and help
maintain the beauty of the floor.
Regular Maintenance
- The surface layer of a
laminate floor is hard and compact, so dirt and dust have a hard
time sticking. Therefore, vacuuming and an an occasional wipe
with a mop are usually all it takes to keep your floor clean.
You do not have to wax or polish your laminate floor.
Cleaning Made Easy
-
Vacuum (use vacuum
without a beater bar) as needed or dust mop. If dust mopping,
clean or shake off the cloth head when finished.
- Spot spray laminate floor
cleaner on soiled areas. Do NOT use soap or detergents.
- Wipe the soiled area with
a cloth mop.
- When the mop is soiled,
remove cloth cover and wash in laundry.
- For difficult spots see
the manufacturer's recommendations for removal.
CAUTION: Never clean
your laminate floor with scouring powder, steel wool, or abrasive
cleaners, such as Comet or Ajax! A laminate floor should never be
sanded or waxed!
